July 4 & Always

As we approach the July 4 celebration of our Nation’s inception take a moment to consider just a few of this past week’s events in America.

-The senate enacted the nationwide same sex marriage ruling.  Same sex marriage is now legal in all states despite an individual state’s beliefs or desires.  In response the White House was awash in the rainbow colors of the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual or Transgender) movement.  “Tonight, the White House was lit to demonstrate our unwavering commitment to progress and equality, here in America and around the world. … Read the rest

To gain an hour of sleep on a weekend as daylight savings time begins is refreshing.  However for many in our country they are facing unimaginable circumstances.  We watched in disbelief as states were ravaged by Sandy just one week ago.  At one count eight million were without power in seventeen states.  Countless are still without power.  Entire towns have been demolished, lives lost and homes destroyed.  Temperatures are beginning to drop and a nor’easter is forecast for the coming week. As we begin this week millions are taking steps to ensure their safety in anticipation of hurricane/tropical storm Sandy.  In addition, an earthquake in Canada has resulted in Tsunami warnings for Hawaii and storm patterns up the West coast of America. Let us stand in agreement for safety and mighty hedges of protection for the United States and any affected by these situations.  Pray that Sandy moves out to sea rather than inland.   Pray also for aide for all who have already been affected by the storm in Haiti, Cuba and throughout the Caribbean.
