To Keep America Free

I wish a most Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers in our lives.  Whether a birth mother, foster mom, adoptive mom, spiritual mom or one who simply ‘mothers’ those in her life, may this be a day blessed with love and peace.

This Week In The News:

0 The IRS has been targeting tax exempt conservative political tax returns since 2011.  The implications of this are far reaching.  This same IRS will be the primary enforcer of Obamacare.  This agency will be charged with determining whether or not you have ‘qualifying’ health care.

0 Hearings on the terrorist attack in Benghazi were held.  We have yet to learn who issued the “stand down” order that resulted in no support being sent and our people being murdered.  We do know that the Benghazi talking points were revised twelve times which sanitized any reference to Al-Qaeda.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said, “What difference at this point does it make?” in reference to why our people were killed in Benghazi.  Those who serve to protect us have a right to expect their government to protect them.  It certainly makes a difference to their families and friends, to me and to all Americans to know the full truth concerning Benghazi.

0 A press conference was held this Thursday at the National Press Club concerning the service held for the Navy Seal team killed in Afghanistan August 6, 2011. At question for many of the families is the reason for the unprecedented disclosure that this exact group was responsible for the taking down of Osama bin Laden.  To protect our troops specific names have never before been revealed.

Further adding to the families’ loss was the combined funeral service for U.S. and Afghan soldiers.  A Muslim cleric was among those who spoke at the service.  Many of the Christian parents of our fallen felt that his words were a mocking of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and a desecration of the memory of these slain American warriors.  Following is an excerpt from the prayer which was said in Arabic:  “…In the name of Allah the merciful forgiver.  The companions of “the fire” (the sinners and infidels who are fodder for hell fire) are not equal with the companions of heaven.  The companions of heaven (Muslims) are the winners.  Had he sent this Koran to the mountain, you would have seen the mountain prostrated in fear of Allah.  (mocking God of Moses).  Such examples are what we present to the people, so that they would think…”  (repent and commit to Islam)  The words in italics were placed by a translator for meaning and clarity.  Read this over carefully.

We Are Each Responsible

I believe we are in treacherous times to be sure.  So much floods our news minute to minute that we become numb to the ongoing information.  So many have told me they do not even listen to the news anymore.  As Christians and as Americans we have a responsibility to be aware of what is happening in the world.  First and foremost we pray that God will have His hand on each situation.

What can you do in addition to praying?  Contact your State and Federal representatives.  Write letters, call and email.  They were elected to represent us and if we fail to contact them on pressing issues they are ill equipped to represent us to the fullest.  Keep in mind that if early United States Christians had stayed out of the political arena our Nation would have never become “the land of the free and the home of the brave.”  We constantly circulate emails amongst ourselves about current events.  Let us now send our concerns to our leaders and pray that they will be led to effectively guide us with integrity, character and honesty through these times.  May the righteousness of the United States of America continue to stand.

On this Mother’s Day pray for all who have lost their children.  Pray for the brave parents who are coming forward to stand for their children who lost their lives to keep us free.  These parents will not “stand down” until they have answers and neither should any one of us.  We are called to “…withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”  (Ephesians 6:13 Armor of God)  Choose today not to “stand down” but to stand for all that is right and for all that our country was founded on.

A Prayer Request

Thank you for your continued faithfulness to pray.  Please hold Amanda Berry, Gina De Jesus and Michelle Knight in prayer that God’s healing grace brings complete restoration to these young women who were held for ten years against their will.  Please keep all who serve our country, our servicemen and women and their families in prayer for salvation and safety.  They are our front-line on the battlefield, let us be their front-line in the spirit.  Also, let us cover all who have come home wounded that they and their families will receive the kindness, help and support they need to go forward in their lives.  God bless all our diplomatic and military personnel and their families.  Please pray for all in authority over us, for the full truth to come forth concerning Benghazi and for safety in Israel.  May God richly bless the United States of America and keep her safe.  May we may arise united in this auspicious season in our country’s history.

Father we come before You and lift up this Nation.  Keep Your hand outstretched for healing of this land.  Strengthen each of us in Your way to stand in this season and speak up for righteousness and freedom.  Cover each of us with Your grace.  Enable and equip us to see with spiritual eyes in these times and to follow Your lead.  We pray a mighty hedge of protection around all who are standing for righteousness and truth in these days.  We pray this in Jesus’ name.  Amen and amen.
