What Name Is the True Name of Destiny?
What is in a name? Your name speaks to your destiny. Parents weigh various names as they await the birth of a new addition to their family. In the Old Testament God renamed Abram to Abraham, Sarai to Sarah to signify their destiny.
Time and again children were named to indicate what was taking place in the situation of their birth. Isaac means laughter as the Lord brought laughter to Sarah, his mother. Benjamin originally meant son of my sorrow as his mother, Rachel, died shortly after giving birth. His father changed his name to mean son of my right hand.
In the New Testament Jesus changed Peter’s name from Simon to Cephas which is Aramaic for rock. Peter knew Jesus to be the Son of God, the Christ, and the Messiah. This revelation would be the rock of understanding upon which Jesus would build His church.
Live Destiny!
Do you know the meaning of your given name? Does it speak to your destiny in the Lord? Destiny is your divine calling.
It is why you are on this earth at this time. It does not really matter what has gone before in your life. God will use it all and turn it all around for good and for His glory.
Do you think you have done too many wrong things? Do you think God has turned His back on you? Do you think it is too late? Think again. It is never too late with God. He is always right on time. He is there for you in whatever situation you may find yourself today. All you need is a truly repentant heart (it is always a heart issue).
Step into your calling. It is the fullness of what God has prepared for you. There is much shaping and molding as you walk out your destiny. Being the best mom or dad, being the best neighbor is all part of destiny in the Lord.
In our bigger than life society it is easy to think that if you are not on a platform in front of thousands you are not walking in your destiny. You walk out destiny with each and every step you take each and every day of your life.
Walk with feet shod with the gospel of peace. Walk with Jesus in your heart.
Power in The Name
The destiny of a name is profound. Think of the names in your sphere of life. What name do you hold most dear in your heart?
What name comes to mind first? As Christians our priorities should be first to God and family. That being said, Jesus should be the name most prized and valued in your heart.
His name is above every name. His name speaks to His destiny as the Anointed One, Savior. His name invokes healing of body, mind and spirit for those who call Him Lord. His name covers His followers with peace. His name anoints His followers to do greater works to bring His Kingdom to earth as it is in heaven ‘for such a time as this.’
Take some time this week to meditate on the name Jesus. Let the Holy Spirit anoint you with the majesty of His name in your life. If you have never accepted Jesus into your heart or if you have wandered off the path, stop now and search your heart. With full contrition believe that He is the Son of God who died for you and rose from the dead to bring you eternal life. Turn to Him now and accept Him into your heart. Make Him the Lord of your life from this day forward.
If you have been a follower for a moment or a lifetime let this be a week of renewal for you. With Jesus as your heart’s destiny He will direct you in His best for your life. Let Him make all things new. This is true destiny no matter how your circumstance may look to the world. Choose Jesus today! Choose destiny today!

A Prayer Request
Thank you for your continued faithfulness to pray. Please keep all who serve our country, our servicemen and women and their families in prayer for salvation and safety. They are our front-line on the battlefield, let us be their front-line in the spirit. Also, let us cover all who have come home wounded that they and their families will receive the kindness, help and support they need to go forward in their lives. Please pray for all affected by the shootings at Ft. Hood, TX, this week.
God bless all our diplomatic and military personnel and their families. May the Lord keep them safe. Pray for all throughout the world for hedges of protection against radical Muslim extremists and all forms of terrorism. We have long prayed for spiritual victory over radical Islam in Esther’s Warriors Ministry. We now see the reality of this threat come to the forefront in this time in world history.
Please pray for all in authority over us, for the full truth to come forth concerning Benghazi and for safety in Israel. May God richly bless the United States of America, bring to light every single crooked place and keep her safe. May we may arise united once again as One Nation Under God in this auspicious season in our country’s history.
We continue to pray for truth to prevail as we saturate this country in prayer and stand for all that is right in America and for all of us who call ourselves American. These are treacherous times and now more than ever we must maintain our walk. Fail not in this hour.
