ESTHER’S WARRIORS MINISTRY
I wish you a blessed Labor Day weekend. May you enjoy the time with
family and friends but also remember what we are commemorating on Monday. Established in 1894 as a Federal holiday, the intent of Labor Day is to honor the economic and social achievements and contributions of American workers to the strength, well-being and prosperity of America.
A strong work ethic and a fair wage for a day’s work lie deep in the fabric of our country. Although not without challenges throughout our history, the American worker believes that having a job is a necessary part of life. Work provides a healthy self-esteem, food and shelter for one’s family and statistically overall better health.
We stand at this time in our history in a very precarious place. Personal
responsibility is being rapidly pushed aside in favor of a socialistic view
that government can supply all our needs through entitlement programs. As Christians we know that the Lord ultimately supplies all our needs. That said, being a Christian carries responsibility to God, our family and those we elect to govern us. Now more than ever before in the history of this great Nation we need to take a long, hard look at where we are headed and reorder our direction. There will be no Labor Day if workers are replaced by takers.
The Decision is Ours
The coming Presidential election is the most critical in our time. I have said it before but it bears repeating that we should not haphazardly vote the ‘party line’ of our family. Look at the candidates, listen and see what they have or have not done in their respective lives that would make you comfortable in supporting them to lead our country in the years to come. The principles that are the foundation of our country are being challenged daily and our rights as Christians are being denigrated daily.
Esther 4:14 says, “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews [today this can be applied to our Nation] from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Now is the time and we are the people if we choose to stand for what we say we believe. We cannot remain safe within church walls
reciting Scripture and expecting God to step in and save us. Our Father’s house is under attack.
In Nehemiah 4:6 we read, “So we built the wall, and the entire wall was joined together…for the people had a mind to work.” Nehemiah’s concern was with Judah’s geographic and political restoration. He challenged the people to restore the shattered walls of Jerusalem.
We have before us a choice to join together with one mind to labor to ensure the physical and governmental reinstatement of our country’s values. Rather than ruminating over petty character assassination disputes I challenge each of us to be diligent to seek the Lord’s wisdom to discern the real issues.
There is a Pattern Set Before Us
I cannot help but ponder the three responses in Matthew 4 that Jesus gave the enemy in the desert: “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ (v4); It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ (v7); For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.’” (v10)
On this Labor Day let us dedicate the work of our hands and hearts (it is always a heart issue) to the Lord. Let us choose to live by every word that
proceeds from the mouth of God. Let us purpose not to tempt the Lord but to worship and serve Him. If we corporately repent, pray and fast for this United States of America He promises to hear from heaven and heal our land. There will be no do-over. This is it. Step up now for the future of our Nation is at stake.
‘Pray the States’
Join us this week as we ‘pray the states’ toward the 2012 Presidential election. We are praying for each state in the order of admission to the Union. Please cover Kansas admitted to the Union January 29, 1861, in prayer. Pray for wisdom and discernment for the political leaders, pastors and church leaders, the people residing in Kansas and for all in our Nation. Each state is important in forming our United States of America. We commit to pray for a different state each week so we not only provide prayer cover but also to make us aware that our country is bigger than the space we personally occupy in it. These are our United States. Let us pray that we will arise united ‘for such a time as this!’
Please repost and share.
A Prayer Request and Personal Blessing
Thank you for your continued faithfulness to pray. Please keep our servicemen and women and their families in prayer for salvation and safety. They are our frontline on the battlefield, let us be their frontline in the spirit. Also, let us cover all who have come home wounded that they and their families will receive the kindness, help and support they need to go forward in their lives. God bless all our military personnel and their families. May God richly bless the United States of America and keep her safe.
May God richly bless the work of your hands. If you have work, be thankful. If you seek work, seek Him first and all else will be added to you. Please pray for all affected by hurricane Isaac that the Lord will provide the resources and help they need to begin recovering.
