Opt for ‘Crazy Faith’
Over Foolish Faith
Conversations about faith abound in Christian circles. How much faith, if any, do you have? Is your faith circumstantially based? Do you express great faith until life throws you a curve? As disciples of Jesus Christ we are called to have faith. God gives each of us a measure of faith. How is your measure doing?
Things are moving so fast. We truly are pressed on all sides. Jesus said there would be tribulation in this world and there certainly is today. If you watch the news, read the paper or just watch how people are responding to other people you can readily see a world gone awry. Now more than ever crazy faith is necessary to navigate the day to day life you are living. Just what is crazy faith and how does it differ from foolish faith?
I use the term crazy faith from the John Waller song of the same name from War Room, the Movie. This song describes what it means to have ‘crazy faith.’ “I can walk on water if you’re calling me to You…Lord, this scares me but it’s gonna take crazy faith…Oh God did I hear You …You really want me to walk up to that mountain and tell it to move?” These are just few of the lyrics but they give you an idea of crazy faith. You move forward, sometimes believing right through the fear. Crazy faith trumps fear every time.
Jesus tells us to speak to the mountain and it will move. The caveat for all the promises of God is faith. “If you believe” is a term used repeatedly by Jesus. To believe is to have faith. Despite what you see around you, to have faith is to believe that God can and will do exceedingly above and beyond what you can think or imagine. He can do the opposite of natural fact as His word is the purest truth.
His Word, His truth trumps natural fact any day. That is crazy faith.
Think about it, if you cannot see something in the natural then how can you believe for it? You believe based on God’s Word to you. Whatever promise is written is for you. Stay in close relationship with Him and be ever obedient to His leading in your life. People may look at your situation and call it finished but only Jesus Christ has the final word. He called all manner of disease and disorder finished on the cross. Finished. He called it finished. He is the Word. Grab a hold of that with crazy faith and do not let go until it is finished.
Watch Out for the Foolish Among Us
What is foolish faith? Foolish faith is claiming that healing has been done on the cross so all is well. There are no challenges in the natural only symptoms. Stay with me now. All was completed on the cross but you do live in a fallen world. Sometimes things happen in the natural that are simply because of that.
For example, I had a very serious motor cycle accident many years ago which included traumatic brain injury, initial right side paralysis, my face being shredded by pavement on one side, I had no vision in my right eye and more. I was the highest level of trauma barring dead on arrival. The emergency room physician told me that he could see that my face was crushed and I would require a minimum of 7-10 reconstructive surgeries. He left to schedule tests to determine the extent of my internal injuries.
I began to pray. I thanked God that I was able to hear the doctor and comprehend what he had told me; that I could see the clock on the wall and understand the time; I called on Jesus to work on my face as I did not want the surgeries. Time moved on slowly as I lay on the stretcher alone in the cold room waiting for tests to be ordered.
In the end, the doctor was completely baffled because, in his words, “I am looking at a crushed face but the x-ray shows not even a hairline fracture. I do not understand.” I said I did. “I serve a God who heals despite what it looks like in the natural.” A miracle brought on by crazy faith. Although I had heard what the doctor said I knew that the ultimate physician was Jesus Christ. It all started by thanking Him for every single part of me that still did work and believing for the rest to be taken care of in His time.
So where does the foolish faith come in here? I was in Bible school at the time. My recovery from the accident was quite lengthy. I could only wear sneakers as regular shoes caused much spinal pain. Sneakers were not part of the dress code and one of the Pastors never missed a chance to comment, “You were healed 2,000 years ago so you do not need to wear sneakers.”
That is foolish faith. I was recovering from an accident and fully believed I would ultimately be healed and restored but in the mean time I was in physical and occupational therapy and dressing in the way I needed to be able to function.
Never forsake natural help on the way to your healing. I was not foolish enough to just go home with the extent of my injuries and claim myself instantly healed. That would be foolish faith. See the difference? Foolish faith is not addressing the immediate condition. Crazy faith believes right through it!
Hold On…The Best Is Yet To Come!
If you are in the middle of something right now you hold on to crazy faith until He brings you through. Do not hear any foolish faith comments which will definitely be thrown your way. Speak every Scripture pertinent to your situation over yourself every day. Dose it like medicine for it is healing. Get serious about your prayer strategy. Call in trusted intercessors to stand in agreement with you. Put on the whole armor of God every day.
This is a season of an open heaven. It is a season of miracles. I am including a link to the song, ‘Crazy Faith’. I hope it encourages you to stay focused on God and His promises to you. Walk in crazy faith. Live in crazy faith. Hold on to your crazy faith and do not let those hanging with foolish faith discourage you and keep you from your miracle!
It Is Never Too Late!
If you have not yet made the decision to accept Jesus into your heart, do it now. Do not wait another minute. Speak to Him from your heart (for it is always a heart issue). Tell Him you have fallen short in your life. Sincerely apologize for your sins. Ask Him to cleanse you and come into your heart and be Lord over your life. From this moment forward let His Spirit guide you along the narrow road that leads to everlasting life.
Quotes to Ponder This Week
“Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” ~Jesus, Mark 11:22-24
“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” ~Jesus, John 16:33
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” ~Hebrews 11:6
“You are Lord and You are mighty and You are merciful. Raise up all who would call upon Your name. Raise up those that love You and seek You and trust You. Lord, we need an army of believers that would stand on Your Word above all else. Raise up warriors, Lord, who will fight on their knees; who will worship You with their whole hearts, Lord. Lord, call us to battle that we may proclaim the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Raise them up, Lord. Raise them up!” ~Miss Clara, War Room the Movie
