Many are praying that God will extend His period of grace in the United States of America in these times to allow those who do not know Him to come to salvation in Him. We are the last bastion of freedom and hope in the world today. Yet so-called Christians in this country parse doctrine and challenge each other to deep theological discussions while souls languish.
Way too many American churches have long become marinating cauldrons of gossip, back stabbing clicks. Sadly, this can include those in leadership as well. Because this ungodly behavior has been allowed to flourish, countless have walked away from church and some have walked away from God altogether.
Sitting in church and getting your attendance ticket punched does not equal a ticket into heaven. If Jesus Christ is truly the Lord of your life you will be living a changed life. If Jesus Christ is truly the Lord of your life you will not be a part of the gossip and every other evil work swirling about. If Jesus Christ is truly the Lord of your life you will be set apart from all that even if you stand alone. And, you may very well stand alone at times in this season.
You can follow Him or follow the crowd. The choice is yours. Your choice can have eternal implications. If you live a life that has all the worldly components you are in and of the world. You can say whatever you want but your actions and the state of your heart (and it is always a heart issue) really say it all.
We are clearly in the end times. While no one knows the exact time of His coming, it does appear close. Jesus left His true followers with the Great Commission to take the Gospel to all the world. Even then, “…some doubted.” Perhaps that is part of the problem today…some doubt that He is Who He says He is and that He can do what He says He can do. There is lip service and head knowledge but no heart awareness.
In addition to the Great Commission, He further said that those who follow Him will heal the sick, speak in new tongues, raise the dead, cast out demons. Those who believe in Him and follow Him will do even greater works than He did while on earth. He did not say that His true followers should sit in buildings or sit in the synagogue of social media judging each other and attacking one another and everyone else.
If you have been a part of the denigration of the body of Christ, decide this moment to step away from all of that. Decide this moment to repent, change your direction and step forward to Jesus. Let Him change you from the heart. Let Him lead you on the narrow path to life. Be part of the solution not part of the problem. Let Him use you to advance His Kingdom today!
If evangelizing the marketplace is not your call, pray for those in the field for a mighty harvest “for such a time as this!”
For it is written:
“Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. “
Jesus
Matthew 28:16-20
“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Jesus
Mark 16:17-18
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.”
Jesus
John 14:12
“Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
Jesus
Matthew 9:37:38
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
Jesus
Matthew 7:13-14
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’”
