May God Bless Your Day
As You Bless Others!
Wishing all a Happy Mother’s Day! The importance of a mother figure in one’s life cannot be diminished. Whether by blood or other relationship God places mothers. Some may not be loving, supportive and nurturing but there are others who can ‘mother’ where there may be deficits. My prayer is that you realize what a blessing it is to have a mom however God has presented that in your life. Remember your mom or ‘moms’ today. Thank them for doing their very best to love you.
Let the Little Children Come
I was told a story this week by a grandmother about her little grandchild. It was meal time at his daycare and before he ate he bowed his little head, quietly spoke a blessing and ended with, “In Jesus’ name, Amen.” The teacher was touched and told his mom when she came to pick him up that day. Just think how this little fellow touched the heart of his teacher and the hearts of all the other children who saw him and heard him.
Clearly he is blessed to have a mom who has connected his heart to Jesus at such an early age. His mom had received the same gift from her mom and so it will go from generation to generation. This precious child is so comfortable with his relationship with the Lord that he thanks God all on his own while at daycare. Think about that. He did not make a disruptive gesture. He simply bowed his little head and thanked God for his food. Hearing this story blessed me as I pray it will bless you.
What Is Your Witness?
On my way home from a trip South I stopped for food. I had much on my mind as I ordered. When the man gave me my change he said with a big smile, “God bless your day, ma’am!” I felt such a peace come over me as he spoke these words. I thanked him for that and offered a blessing right back to him.
Driving on I stopped again in another state and the manager at that restaurant said as he checked me out, “Safe travels and God bless you!” Wow! I was so pleased to hear Christians blessing strangers throughout the day. I know it made my trip just a little bit lighter.
Each of these experiences touched my heart this week. It is always a heart issue. At a time when Christianity is under attack worldwide and even in our United States of America I was overwhelmed that in the heartland Christ is alive and well and lived out daily. Take a look at the landscape of your own heart this week. Take a look at your own life. What is your witness? To witness does not require a podium delivered speech.
You witness every time you open your mouth to speak. You witness every time you act in your life. Are you humbly thanking God despite your surroundings as the little fellow in the beginning of this post? Do you bless those you encounter whether you know them or they are strangers to you?
Be a Blessing!
In His covenant with Abraham God told him that He would bless him and he would in turn bless others. As descendants of Abraham through his son Isaac we are children of this promise. We are blessed to be a blessing. No matter what is taking place in your life, no matter the season you are in right now, you are blessed to be a blessing. If you think you are not blessed, think again. You have life. Everyone has challenges of varying degrees. It is how you live out your life that matters. Every word and every action has eternal ramifications. Think about that. Be blessed to be a blessing!
Quotes to Ponder This Week
“Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. ~Jesus, Matthew 18:3
“Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”~Jesus, Luke 18:16-17
“I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.”~Genesis 12:2
“Now we brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise.” ~Galatians 5:28
“Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels.”~Hebrews 13:1-2
A Prayer Request
Thank you for your continued faithfulness to pray. Please keep all who serve our country, our servicemen and women and their families in prayer for salvation and safety. They are our front-line on the battlefield, let us be their front-line in the spirit. Also, let us cover all who have come home wounded that they and their families will receive the kindness, help and support they need to go forward in their lives.
God bless all our diplomatic and military personnel and their families. May the Lord keep them safe. Pray for all throughout the world for hedges of protection against radical Muslim extremists and all forms of terrorism. We have long prayed for spiritual victory over radical Islam in Esther’s Warriors Ministry. We now see the reality of this threat come to the forefront in this time in world history. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Please pray for all in authority over us, for the full truth to come forth concerning Benghazi as new hearings will be held. We as Americans and the families of those murdered in Benghazi deserve to be told the truth. Hearings to seek the whole truth have nothing to do with politics as some in current leadership like to posit. Our people were left to be brutally killed. As new information comes to light the only political implication many of us see is a possible cover-up before a Presidential election. Scandals are rife in this administration. We the people are not that naive. Pray that God will open doors to let the truth flow for all of us in this United States of America! The truth shall keep us free.
May God richly bless the United States of America, bring to light every single crooked place and keep her safe. May we may arise united once again as One Nation Under God in this auspicious season in our country’s history. We continue to pray for truth to prevail as we saturate this country in prayer and stand for all that is right in America and for all of us who call ourselves American. These are treacherous times and now more than ever we must maintain our walk. Fail not in this hour.
