Do You Have Your Word
And Direction for 2016?
As we close out the first month of this new year of 2016, look over the last four weeks of preparation. Prayer and worship, time in the Word, time alone in relationship with Jesus and a firm belief without doubt are the areas we covered. Each one is important in its own right. Together they create a firm foundation upon which to build your coming year.
The season we are in now is filled with promise and depth and miracles. Although similar to seasons that have come before it is new and unique. It is not like any other previous time. You are here ‘for such a time as this’ to be sure. To walk victoriously you need a word in season for this season.
What is Your Word?
If you do not have a personal Scripture for 2016 yet, spend time with the Lord. Ask Him to guide you to a verse or word that is applicable for you for the year. There is no pressure here. No need to be legalistic. I have been doing this for some time now and I can tell you it is so reassuring to have a personal verse or word carry you through the ups and downs of a year.
Perhaps in your Bible reading a verse or word will really come alive to you and you will know that is the one that applies for you for 2016. Open your heart to receive your word for the year. Post your personal verse or word where you can see it daily and encourage yourself. Just as David encouraged himself in the Lord, you can encourage yourself in the Lord and in His word for you for this year and this season.
A Corporate Word
Job 17:9 reads, “The righteous keep moving forward, and those with clean hands become stronger and stronger.” This is the season to be strong. You must stand daily in the armor of God. Pray daily. Be in the Word of God daily. Spend time with God daily. The key is daily. As life is daily you need Him in your life daily. He is the Bread of Life. He is daily manna.
Never give up. Never stop believing. Never doubt. Seek the Lord. Pursue Him. Remember the pattern in Daniel. Daniel prayed and it took 21 days for the answer to come as there were impediments in the spirit realm. Whether you have been waiting 21 minutes, 21 days, 21 months or 21 years, do not give up. Do not faint. Do not quit. Keep moving forward. Keep your hands and your heart clean. Become stronger and stronger!
Seek Him and His Kingdom above all else. Seek wisdom for these days. Seek discernment. He goes before you and is your rear guard. Open your heart completely and let Him in fully today and every day. It is a new season. It is a challenging season of breakthrough and healing. Major shifts will take place in the natural and in the spirit realm. Situations long stuck will break forth with a fresh anointing ‘for such a time as this!’
Make no mistake; this is a wonderful time to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ. It requires you to keep moving forward, hand to plow and never look back. God is raising up a remnant in this season. It is our time to shine. Things are moving rapidly and to stay with the move of God in this season you must keep your eyes ever forward and keep moving in step with His direction. Do you have your word for 2016? Are you set for 2016? Ready. Set. Let’s go!
It Is Never Too Late!
If you have not yet made the decision to accept Jesus into your heart, do it now. Do not wait another minute. Speak to Him from your heart (for it is always a heart issue). Tell Him you have fallen short in your life. Sincerely apologize for your sins. Ask Him to cleanse you and come into your heart and be Lord over your life. From this moment forward let His Spirit guide you along the narrow road that leads to everlasting life.
