What Do You Hear and Follow?

Word of God

God’s Word Or

The Words of the World?

As we move swiftly into the 2014 fall season, much is happening in the world.  With vast technology; instant graphic news reporting; air travel that can swiftly move people and disease from nation to nation, the world gets smaller at a rapid pace.  Jihad based beheading and the Ebola virus have now reached the shores of the United States of America.  As the moral fiber of our country continues to unravel at a mind boggling rate, what are you hearing?

Faith Cancels Fear

If you focus only on the media you will live in fear and trepidation.  However, if you choose to focus on the Word of God you will rise above the daily diatribe of negativity.  You do have to be aware of what is taking place in the world as it affects us all.  However, you do not have to dwell in what the world speaks.

There is a fine line between being informed and being paralyzed with fear.  Discern the times but maintain a Kingdom focus.  Walk by faith.  This is not always easy when the news is so ominous.  Nevertheless, if you are reading this, you are placed here now ‘for such a time as this’ (Esther 4:14).   Make no mistake, you are called and chosen to intercede from wherever God has you.

We Have Allowed the World to Replace Our God

In America, we have long allowed division within the Body of Christ; idols; New Age beliefs; the spirit of religion; addictions of various kinds; abortion; disintegration of family; disrespect of elders; and disrespect of authority of any kind.  We have fostered the growth of a welfare oriented state that has produced generations of otherwise functional people who no longer work for their own livelihood.

We have allowed all of this and more to seep in and take hold of the spiritual and natural landscape of our Nation.  Our forefathers came to this country and worked hard to build a new life for themselves, their families, and the generations to come.  We are among those generations. In a short time we have eroded their dream, rejected their efforts, and turned our backs on the God of our ancestors and His commandments.

The Tide Must Turn

Spoken by the Lord to Solomon in response to his prayer of dedication of the temple, 2 Chronicles 7:14 is directed to Israel.  However this verse has eternal meaning for us as we are now God’s people, each a living temple of the Holy Spirit.  Now is the time to dedicate our temple to the Lord and declare our land as His land.  For today and for those of us who follow Him, 2 Chronicles 7:14 profoundly speaks across generations:

O   If My people who are called by My name.  If we profess to be Christians then we are His people called by His name.  It is time to readily reflect that personage.

O   Will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face.  We must humble ourselves and release any personally held pride and self – righteousness.  As we do this on an individual basis we will be better equipped to humble ourselves corporately.  Now is the time to fall on our faces and pray and seek His face for our Nation.  We must seek His face for the very ability to continue to have the religious freedom we have experienced since the birth of the United States of America.

O   And turn from their wicked ways.  It is certainly time to lay down the wicked ways we have allowed to permeate our hearts and our land.  It is certainly time to step off the wide road that leads to destruction and get back on the Kingdom highway, the narrow road that leads to life.

O   Then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.  The Lord has clearly stated that He will hear, He will forgive, and He will heal our land if we do as we are instructed.

Now Is The Time!

The time is now for each of us to get on our face in repentance and seek the face of the Lord for what He would have us do in this season.  The Muslim mission is to convert the world to Islam.  They are focused, strategic and intent.   Sadly, numerous Christians sit in pews, build programs and ministries yet avoid the real issues that face us all today.

The path is narrow and few find it, but for those among us with an ear to hear what the Holy Spirit would say in this time, we must listen and follow His direction.  There is a clarion call going out to the true church of Jesus Christ to rise up ‘for such a time as this.’  Now is the time.  We are the people.  Hear the Word of God in this season and follow Him!  God bless you and keep you this day and always.

Quotes to Ponder This Week

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”  ~Jesus, Matthew 7:13-14

“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”  ~Jesus, Matthew 16:24

“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”  ~Jesus, Revelation 2:7,  11,  17,  29;  3 ;6,  13, 22

If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians.  For I am the Lord who heals you.”  (Emphasis mine)~Exodus 15:26

“In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”  ~Proverbs 3:6

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”  ~2Corinthians 5:7

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”  ~Hebrews 4:12

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” ~1Peter 2:9-10

 A Prayer Request

Thank you for your continued faithfulness to pray. Please keep all who serve our country, our diplomatic corps, our servicemen and women and their families in prayer for salvation and safety. They are our front-line on the battlefield, let us be their front-line in the spirit. Also, let us cover all who have come home wounded that they and their families will receive the kindness, help and support they need to go forward in their lives. May the Lord bless them and keep them safe.

Pray for all throughout the world for hedges of protection against radical Muslim extremists and all forms of terrorism. We have long prayed for spiritual victory over radical Islam in Esther’s Warriors Ministry. We now see the reality of this threat come to the forefront in this time in world history.

Please pray for all in authority over us, for the full truth to come forth concerning Benghazi. We as Americans and the families of those murdered in Benghazi deserve to be told the truth. Pray that God will open doors to let the truth on all that has been hidden flow for all of us in this United States of America! The truth shall keep us free.

Pray for peace in Israel.  Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.  Pray for Christians throughout the world who face violence and death for their faith.

May God richly bless the United States of America, bring to light every single crooked place and keep her safe. May we arise united once again as One Nation Under God in this auspicious season in our country’s history. We continue to pray for truth to prevail as we saturate this country in prayer and stand for all that is right in America and for all of us who call ourselves American. These are treacherous times and now more than ever we must maintain our walk. Fail not in this hour.  #Pray for America.

Father God, We thank You that You have placed us here in this season.  We repent as individuals for all we have sinned against You in thought, word or deed.  We come together corporately to repent for grievous transgressions made against Your Word and Your Spirit.  Give us ears to hear what the Spirit would say to us.  We humble ourselves before You as a Nation.  We pray Your mercy on this United States of America.  We seek Your face alone.  Grace us to turn in this season from all that is not of You. We thank You that You keep Your hand on America.  Forgive our sin and heal our land that we will remain One Nation Under God.  We pray this in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen and Amen.
