The Sparrow’s Eggs

The Birth of

A New Season!

This year a little house sparrow was led to build her nest in one of my hanging flower baskets.  The basket was not even out a week and I watched her busily going in and out of the basket.  Soon, there were 5 eggs and she faithfully sat on those eggs taking only brief breaks.  I would look into her little brown eyes every morning as she tended to those eggs in anticipation of a new little family.  Sure enough, after what seemed to me to be forever, this morning, 4 of the eggs have hatched and the little babies are straining to be fed.  What a blessing to see this new birth up close!

As the eggs were nearing the end of the egg stage yesterday, both the male and female bird took turns sitting on the nest.  They were diligent to split their time as the birth approached.  I knew it was close as there was so much action all day with both the adult birds tending to the nest.  Now I am seeing both parents in and out feeding the little ones.  I read that they feed 15-19 times an hour at this stage.  Can you imagine?  It must be true from what I am observing.

What Are You Believing For?

All of this excitement in my little yard infused my spirit with joy to be able to see life emerge after a seemingly long incubation period.  I am so touched by the diligence and faithfulness of the parent birds.  They are amazing!  Even while working around my little dog, who would love to join the action, they are relentless in their mission to birth and raise their young.

What do you believe will come forth in this next season?  What has the Lord been incubating in your spirit?  It could be healing, financial release, relationship renewal or any number of things unique to your situation.  What vision have you been nurturing for a seemingly long time?  Just know that in the blink of an eye things change.  In a suddenly moment, the miracle of new birth arrives.

Hold Fast!

Remember, these little birds remained steadfast in the building of the nest with vision for the future.  They tended the eggs without distraction, not stopping to think maybe the eggs would never hatch.  They were relentless through storms, excessive heat and cold mornings.  We can learn much from these little creatures.  They remained determined to let nothing, including an excited Brussels Griffon, deter them from their final goal of hatching their 5 little eggs.  And with the hatching begins the work of equipping the little ones to grow and go forth on their own.

Whatever vision you have been nurturing in your spirit, stay steadfast until it is birthed!  Do not let anyone or anything deter you from what God has prepared for you if you are called according to His purpose.  We are in a season pregnant with possibility and miracles.  Hold on to that and do not let it go until you receive what God has shown you.  Many have labored long waiting for His set time.  Hold fast to the profession of your faith in this hour.  Things are moving swiftly.  Do not quit now.  This is the birth of a new season!

It Is Never Too Late!

If you have not yet made the decision to accept Jesus into your heart, do it now.  Do not wait another minute.  Speak to Him from your heart (for it is always a heart issue).  Tell Him you have fallen short in your life.  Sincerely apologize for your sins.  Ask Him to cleanse you and come into your heart and be Lord over your life.  From this moment forward let His Spirit guide you along the narrow road that leads to everlasting life.

“You are Lord and You are mighty and You are merciful.  Raise up all who would call upon Your name.  Raise up those that love You and seek You and trust You.  Lord, we need an army of believers that would stand on Your Word above all else.  Raise up warriors, Lord, who will fight on their knees; who will worship You with their whole hearts, Lord.  Lord, call us to battle that we may proclaim the King of kings and the Lord of lords.  Raise them up, Lord.  Raise them up!”  ~Miss Clara, War Room the Movie
