What Do You Consider
“Watch and pray, that you do not enter into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” This is spoken by Jesus in Matthew 26:41. You may recognize this quote if you spend time in the Word. I have read it for years but this week I saw it in a different light.
Temptation is defined by Webster as, “something that causes a strong urge or desire to have or do something and especially something that is bad, wrong, or unwise.” I do not know about you, but I always thought that … Read the rest
Opt for ‘Crazy Faith’
Over Foolish Faith
Conversations about faith abound in Christian circles. How much faith, if any, do you have? Is your faith circumstantially based? Do you express great faith until life throws you a curve? As disciples of Jesus Christ we are called to have faith. God gives each of us a measure of faith. How is your measure doing?
Things are moving so fast. We truly are pressed on all sides. Jesus said there would be tribulation in this world and there certainly is today. If you watch the news, read the paper or just watch … Read the rest
Go in Peace
One of my favorite stories in the Bible is of the woman with the issue of blood. She had “suffered many things” for twelve years. She had gone to many physicians for help but continued to get worse. She “spent all that she had.” Her situation seemed hopeless. But then she heard about Jesus.
She pressed through a crowded throng of people just be able to touch the very hem of His garment. She pressed through, trying to remain unseen, eating the dust from sandals walking in front and around her just to touch … Read the rest
Thomas Had To Physically See to Believe
How About You?
Are you familiar with the story of the Apostle Thomas? He was one of the twelve who walked with Jesus during His earthly ministry. When Jesus appeared after His resurrection to the Apostles, Thomas was not present. When his comrades told him of their Lord’s visitation, Thomas was skeptical and said he would not believe unless he could see Jesus himself.
Jesus later returned to His followers when Thomas was present. Jesus showed His wounds to Thomas and let him touch them. For Thomas, seeing was believing! However, Jesus took … Read the rest
Do You Walk by Faith
Or Engulfed in Fear?
Do you ever feel particularly challenged? Does your life sometimes take on the unwanted dimension of a completely overwhelming sensation? Do you wonder which way to turn and what action to take? You are not alone. This experience happens to each of us along the path of life. What is critical is how you function during a time you feel most unable to function.
Focus, Focus, Focus!
Check the focus of your heart. If your heart’s attention is riveted to the circumstance you are experiencing to the point that you are … Read the rest
Do You Trust God
In the Depths of Your Heart?
Do you trust God? Do you trust Him to know what is best for you? Do you trust that He goes before you as your life unfolds? Do you trust that He is well aware of how long you may have been waiting for something or someone to change? Do you live in peace every day deep in your heart (for it is always a heart issue) knowing that God has all in your life covered with His divine plan? Take some time to think about your honest answer … Read the rest
Natural Time May Be Movable
Faith Seeks God’s Set Time!
Today in the United States we move our clocks back one hour as Daylight Savings Time ends for another season. We talk about “gaining an extra hour.” Just when we are in the groove with the time change the time will switch again in the spring when we allegedly “lose an hour.” A lot of talk surrounds this time adjustment each year from casual conversation to daily newscasts. All this focus and dialog about time.
Who Controls the Hands of Your Clock?
It is an interesting concept that we simply … Read the rest
Is Your Life Filled With Effort

Blessings on this first week of summer! Graduations, weddings and various festivities of the season herald many levels of new beginnings. Open doors of opportunity and yet to be discovered blessings await at every turn. “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11) Your future rests in Him and His divine plan for you.
