#Pray for America-How Will You Spend President’s Day?

President's Day

Take Time to Learn What

Our President’s Stood for and Believed

This week in the United States of America we celebrate President’s Day in honor of those who throughout history have held our highest National office.  These men served at great personal sacrifice to lead the greatest country through times of peace and times of war.  History shows us that these men placed God and country first as they led us again and again to victory over enemies of the time.  They expressed pride in America and sought the best for her and all who called themselves American.

Not All Change Is Good

Today we live in a much different and ever escalating climate.  Our President does not call radical Islamic actions terrorism but workplace violence.  He tells us that the news media is blowing the terrorist issue way out of proportion.  The radicalization of Muslim youth is a growing concern across our country.  Demonstrations on college campuses with shouts of ‘Allah Akbar’ (Allah is Greater) can be readily viewed on the internet. ISIS is well within our borders. We are at war with radical Islam.  You cannot win a war without naming and knowing the enemy.

The Office of the President should carry a certain dignity and decorum.  As the leader of the United States, the President should unite the country.  Division is repeatedly spoken from this President on race, religion and political party.

Years ago there were some who did not like America and the popular slogan at the time was, “America, love it or leave it.”  Now more than ever, for those who do not like the principles we were founded on and who we are as a democratic Nation, feel free to return to your native land.  We are not here to provide free medical care, food stamps, housing and a free education to people not willing to accept our laws and our way of life.  We were never to be a socialist experiment.  We were established as a free Republic.

Arise For ‘Such A Time As This!’

Take this President’s Day to contact your government representatives and let them know what you expect of them.  They are elected to serve you.  We are not here to serve the government.  Our rights are being trampled at an alarming rate.  This country voted for change in the mid-term elections.  It is incumbent on each of us to press for that change by persistently contacting our representatives.   Read the quotes from our former Presidents and get a feel for our heritage.  We are in fact a Nation built on Christian principles!  May God bless you and may God bless America.

“We took the liberty to make some inquiries concerning the Grounds of their pretensions to make war upon a Nation who had done them no Injury, and observed that we considered all mankind as our Friends who had done us no wrong, nor had given us any provocation. The ambassador [Tripoli’s Ambassador to Great Britain] answered us that it was founded on the laws of their prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every musselman (Muslim) who should be slain in battle was sure to go to paradise~President Thomas Jefferson, Concerning Muslim terror raids and piracy against American ships.  When Jefferson became President he responded to radical Islamic threats by confronting them and defeating them. This marked our first war on foreign soil from which a line in the Marine Corps hymn, “to the shores of Tripoli,” serves as a historical remembrance of that victory.

Roosevelt

“The fundamental basis of this nation’s law was given to Moses on the Mount.  The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul…If we don’t  have a proper fundamental background, we will finally end up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the State!” ~President Harry S. Truman

“In this way we are reaffirming the transcendence of religious faith in America’s heritage and future; in this way we shall constantly strengthen those spiritual weapons which forever will be our country’s most powerful resource in peace and war.”  ~President Dwight D. Eisenhower when adding “one Nation under God” to our Pledge of Allegiance

“Without God there could be no American form of government, nor an American way of life.  Recognition of the Supreme Being is the first-the most basic-expression of Americanism.  Thus, the Founding Fathers of America saw it, and thus with God’s help, it will continue to be.”  ~President Dwight D. Eisenhower

“Let us…lead this land that we love, joining in the prayer of General George Washington in 1783, “that God would have you in His holy protection…to demean ourselves with…the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion, without an humble imitation of whose example we can never hope to be a happy nation.”  ~President John F. Kennedy

A Prayer Request

Thank you for your continued faithfulness to pray.  Please keep all who serve our country, our servicemen and women and their families in prayer for salvation and safety.  They are our front-line on the battlefield, let us be their front-line in the spirit.  Also, let us cover all who have come home wounded that they and their families will receive the kindness, help and support they need to go forward in their lives.

God bless all our diplomatic and military personnel and their families.  May the Lord keep them safe.  Pray for all throughout the world for hedges of protection against radical Muslim extremists and all forms of terrorism.   We have long prayed for spiritual victory over radical Islam in Esther’s Warriors Ministry. We now see the reality of this threat come to the forefront in this time in world history.

Please pray for all in authority over us, for the full truth to come forth concerning Benghazi and for safety in Israel.  May God richly bless the United States of America, bring to light every single crooked place and keep her safe.  May we may arise united once again as One Nation Under God in this auspicious season in our country’s history.

The lives lost in Benghazi, the continuing targeting of conservative groups by the Internal Revenue Service, Operation Fast and Furious, the Department of Justice targeting journalists phone records, the National Security Agency overstepping its legal authority are hardly “phony scandals.”  We continue to pray for truth to prevail in each of these situations.  Pray for the families who have lost loved ones, for those relentlessly targeted and for all of us who call ourselves American.  These are treacherous times and now more than ever we must maintain our walk with the Lord, saturate this country in prayer and stand for all that is right in America.  Fail not in this hour.

Please Join Me In Prayer

Father we thank You for Your faithfulness and Your Son, Jesus Christ. Equip each of us to arise in this time to protect all that is of You in our country.  Ignite each heart to encourage and prompt our leaders to stand for the Biblical tenets that have made America great since its inception.  Grace us to stand in the gap spiritually for this Nation ‘for such a time as this!’  Thank You for keeping Your hand on America.  We humbly pray this in Jesus’ mighty name.  Amen and Amen.
