Open Doors Begin With Open Hearts

To Walk Through God’s Open Door

You Must First Open the Door to Your Heart

We talk about God opening doors and making a way where there is seemingly no way.  We are encouraged throughout Scripture that He does in fact open doors of healing, release and victory in every imaginable situation.  Are you waiting for a door to open?  Have you done all in your own strength to facilitate matters?  Have you long been seeking the Lord for His hand to open a door that can only be opened supernaturally by Him?

Release Opens The Way

Check your heart for it truly is always a heart issue.  God works in our hearts to prepare us for where He is taking us.  If we hold a stony heart our growth is hindered.  Take a few moments to honestly look into your heart.  Do you hold resentment, bitterness or unforgiveness?  These are human reactions that have no place in the heart of one who follows the Lord.  With His help release these feelings and place a hedge of protection around your heart from this day forward.  Be diligent to pray that hedge daily to keep your walk pure.

Release any people you may be upset with, whether justified or not, to Him and bless them.  Life happens and people can be cruel.  That unfortunately is reality.  We are called to press through.  Keep moving and do not park in offense.  Jesus said, “The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes.  So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”  (John 3:8)  Keep moving.  Do not look back.  When born of the Spirit you follow the Spirit Who is likened to the blowing wind…moving not stagnant.

Deepen Your Relationship

Check your heart for the state of your relationship with the Lord.  Are you angry with Him?  Are you keeping score about all you are doing (praying, reading the Bible, works of any kind) that should be moving Him to act on your behalf?  What moves Him is a contrite and humble heart.  If you pray and read and do works but your heart is discordant all becomes works.  He is moved by a repentant heart that submits fully to His will.  Works do not impress or move God.  A totally submitted heart, thankful and full of praise touches His heart.  It is in the midst of this heart connection that mountains move.

Submit and Be Free!

To be fully submitted is to take each step in complete faith that He is in control and has His best for you.  To be fully submitted is to take each step fully trusting that all is well.  When fully submitted you do not look left or right.  You do not get caught up in what things appear to be in the natural.  You keep your eyes fixed only on Him and the direction He is leading you.

If you have lost your way today is the day to get back on track.  The first door to be opened is the door to your heart.  He stands at that door and knocks.  Will you let Him come in and take a permanent seat at your table?

Quotes to Ponder This Week

The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder; so he shall open, and no one shall shut; and he shall shut, and no one shall open.”  Isaiah 22:22

“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock:  if anyone hears My voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and dine with him, and he with Me.”  Jesus, Revelation 3:20

The adversary’s opportunity is when we think that we are something and try to open our own door.  Our thoughts, words, and deeds must all be in the power of the Holy Spirit.”  Smith Wigglesworth, Devotional, July 6

“Unbelief is the great dethroning place; faith is the great rising place.” Smith Wigglesworth, Devotional, July 7

A Prayer Request

Thank you for your continued faithfulness to pray.  Please keep all who serve our country, our servicemen and women and their families in prayer for salvation and safety.  They are our frontline on the battlefield, let us be their frontline in the spirit.  Also, let us cover all who have come home wounded that they and their families will receive the kindness, help and support they need to go forward in their lives.  God bless all our diplomatic and military personnel and their families.  Please pray for all in authority over us, for the full truth to come forth concerning Benghazi and for safety in Israel.  Pray for those affected by severe weather outbreaks in our country this week.  Pray for all throughout the world for hedges of protection against radical Muslim extremists and all forms of terrorism.   May God richly bless the United States of America, bring to light every single crooked place and keep her safe.  May we may arise united once again as One Nation Under God in this auspicious season in our country’s history.

Please Join Me In Prayer

Father we thank You that You are ever faithful to perform Your Word in our lives.  We come before You with a humble and contrite heart.  We release anyone we have held captive with discordant heart issues.  Bless them with every good and gracious gift from above.  Teach us Your ways from a pure heart.  Let our heart line up with Your heart.  Close the door on anything that is not Your best for us and open doors only You can open in our life.  Grace us to operate from a place of humility, thanksgiving and praise rather than from a ‘works’ focus.  Thank You for Your faithfulness to guide us in the direction You would have us take for Your glory.  We pray this in Jesus’ name.  Amen and amen.
