If You Are Meek, Are You Weak?

Meek is Not Weak

Are You Called to Be a Doormat

Or a Doorway?

Do you ever feel as if being a Christian means being a doormat?  Do you think that being a doormat is what Jesus has in mind for you?  With so many conflicting concepts floating around it can be confusing if you take your eyes off Him.  The world will tell you one thing and you can be sure that it will be diametrically opposed to the Kingdom way of thinking and living.

Jesus clearly tells us that the meek are blessed and shall inherit the earth.  So what can you do in this world to be meek, blessed and in line to inherit?  The answer to this lies deep in your heart.  It is always a heart issue to be sure!  If you withhold any part of your life from Him, you cut off that part of your heart.  If your heart is not 100% lined up with His you are locking yourself out of a full relationship with Him.

Check Your Blocks!

Many things can keep you cordoned off from Him.  Pride, unbelief, placing idols before Him in your life, are just a few of the issues that can block your heart.  Remember, idols can be people, places or things that hold an elevated place in your life.  Anything that takes precedence over Him is an idol.  The issue of idols can be very illusive and deceiving if you are not careful to diligently check your heart and make sure He is top priority.

As a follower of Christ you are His ambassador, His representative on earth.  An ambassador is one who represents his or her homeland in another land.  As a Christian, you are to represent the Kingdom in the world.  This representation should be one filled with grace yet empowered by the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Such a substantial assignment cannot be lived out without complete submission to Him.  If you hold back anything you will not be fully equipped to walk in blessing and inheritance.  It is only in the fullness of your destiny that you are used to provide open doors for others to walk through.

Be Submitted to Your Ordained Purpose

Let us get back to the question, ‘are you a doormat or a doorway?’  You are not called to be a doormat.  Meek does not mean weak.  Moses was meek. Yet, God used Him to lead His chosen people to the Promised Land.  Jesus was meek.  He was fully submitted to the will of the Father.  He had all the power of the Kingdom yet He used wisdom and discernment to reach the people.  He was submitted to His purpose.  It was never about Him but about the love He had for each of us that He went to the cross to open the door to eternal salvation.

If in your life it is ‘all about you,’ take this day to kneel before the Lord and seek a changed heart.  Go forth this day to walk in the meekness and humility of the Lord to be an ambassador who truly reflects the Kingdom of God and brings that Kingdom to earth as it is in heaven!

Who Lies Deep in Your Heart?

The picture I chose this week is of a fleur-de-lis, “flower of the lily.”  The fleur-de-lis has represented royalty throughout the ages.  It is often used to represent the Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Holding the Trinity deep in your heart, honoring the Father, submitting to the Son and allowing the Holy Spirit to convict and empower you will guide you on the path to meekness.

It is on this road of meekness that you will be blessed and inherit the earth!  May God bless you and keep you always in the palm of His hand and lead you into His perfect will in this season.

Quotes to Ponder This Week

“Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.”  ~Jesus, Matthew 5:5

“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”  ~Jesus, Matthew 11:29

“Meek: Praus, GK. Gentle, meek, the positive moral quality of dealing with people in a kind manner, with humility and consideration.”    ~Strong’s Concordance, 4239

“(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)”  ~Numbers 12:3

“Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, meek, and sitting on a donkey, a colt, a foal of a donkey.’” ~Matthew 21:5

“Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.” ~Colossians 3:12-13

“…but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.” ~1Peter 3:4

“The meek man is not a human mouse afflicted with a sense of his own inferiority. Rather he may be in his moral life as bold as a lion and as strong as Samson; but he has stopped being fooled about himself. He has accepted God’s estimate of his own life. He knows he is as weak and helpless as God declared him to be, but paradoxically, he knows at the same time that he is in the sight of God of more importance than angels. In himself, nothing; in God, everything. That is his motto.”  ~A.W. Tozer, Pursuit of God, Chapter 9, Meekness and Rest

“Jesus calls us to His rest, and meekness is His method. The meek man cares not at all who is greater than he, for he has long ago decided that the esteem of the world is not worth the effort. He develops toward himself a kindly sense of humor and learns to say, “Oh, so you have been overlooked? They have placed someone else before -you? They have whispered that you are pretty small stuff after all? And now you feel hurt because the world is saying about you the very things you have been saying about yourself? Only yesterday you were telling God that you were nothing, a mere worm of the dust. Where is your consistency? Come on, humble yourself, and cease to care what men think.”~A.W. Tozer, Pursuit of God, Chapter 9, Meekness and Rest

“They, who are truly meek, can clearly discern what is evil; and they can also suffer it. They are sensible of everything of this kind, but still meekness holds the reins. They are exceeding “zealous for the Lord of hosts;” but their zeal is always guided by knowledge, and tempered, in every thought, and word, and work, with the love of man, as well as the love of God. They do not desire to extinguish any of the passions which God has for wise ends implanted in their nature; but they have the mastery of all: They hold them all in subjection, and employ them only in subservience to those ends. And thus even the harsher and more unpleasing passions are applicable to the noblest purposes; even hatred, and anger, and fear, when engaged against sin, and regulated by faith and love, are as walls and bulwarks to the soul, so that the wicked one cannot approach to hurt it”.~John Wesley, Sermon 22, 5

A Prayer Request

Thank you for your continued faithfulness to pray. Please keep all who serve our country, our diplomatic corps, our servicemen and women and their families in prayer for salvation and safety. They are our front-line on the battlefield, let us be their front-line in the spirit. Also, let us cover all who have come home wounded that they and their families will receive the kindness, help and support they need to go forward in their lives. May the Lord bless them and keep them safe.

Pray for all throughout the world for hedges of protection against radical Muslim extremists and all forms of terrorism. We have long prayed for spiritual victory over radical Islam in Esther’s Warriors Ministry. We now see the reality of this threat come to the forefront in this time in world history..

Please pray for all in authority over us, for the full truth to come forth concerning Benghazi. We as Americans and the families of those murdered in Benghazi deserve to be told the truth. Pray that God will open doors to let the truth on all that has been hidden flow for all of us in this United States of America! The truth shall keep us free.

Pray for peace in Israel.  Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.  Pray for Iraqi Christians and all throughout the world that face violence and death for their faith.

May God richly bless the United States of America, bring to light every single crooked place and keep her safe. May we arise united once again as One Nation Under God in this auspicious season in our country’s history. We continue to pray for truth to prevail as we saturate this country in prayer and stand for all that is right in America and for all of us who call ourselves American. These are treacherous times and now more than ever we must maintain our walk. Fail not in this hour.

Please Join Me in Prayer

Father God, We thank You that You have placed us here in this season.  Let us shed every idol that keeps us from the fullness of Your divine will for our lives.  Grace us to put You first in our heart and first in our life.  Empower us to be ambassadors readily recognized as representatives of Your Kingdom.  Remove any worldly issues from our hearts and cleanse us. Bless us to live our lives in meekness and Holy Spirit empowerment.   Let us be submitted to You and to Your purpose.  Quicken each one of us to walk in the fullness of all You have ordained. We thank You that You keep Your hand on this United States of America and that we will remain One Nation Under God.  Raise us up in fullness ‘for such a time as this.’ We pray this in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen and Amen.
