“God Talk or God Walk?”

ESTHER’S WARRIORS MINISTRY

Blessings as we enter the season of Advent!  The word Advent comes from the Latin word adventus which means coming.  From now until Christmas we anticipate the commemoration of the first coming of Jesus Christ to earth at His birth.  We also are reminded of and await His second coming.  Advent is a season filled with expectation.  It is a consecrated period to prepare our heart by clearing out what is not of God.  It is a time to choose to allow the Holy Spirit to infuse us with power to go forth and bring God’s Kingdom to earth as it is in heaven.  What an exciting time!

Are You Walking Your Talk?

Many who call themselves Christian are experts at “God talk” but fall short with “God walk” in their lives.  Allowing Jesus Christ fully into your heart
(and it is always a heart issue) and giving Him Lordship over your life are the only ways to “God walk” through your life.  What exactly does that mean?  What does it look like?

To know all about Jesus Christ and to be able to quote the Scriptures does not a true follower make.  “God talk” proliferates our society and our churches yet countless walk through their lives uninspired, unchallenged and immobilized.  All the head knowledge in the world will not make you an empowered believer.  All the emotional highs in worship will not empower you beyond the moment.

On Earth As It Is In Heaven!

Complete surrender to the living God is key.  Do you know and believe that He is alive today and ready to live through you to touch the world for His Kingdom on earth?  If Jesus is simply an historical figure that you hold in reverence you are missing it.  Sadly in our culture countless view Him as a Savior who walked the earth over two thousand years ago whose power died with the Apostles.  He is in heaven and hears our prayers but it pretty much ends there.  Even many “born-again” believers stop at accepting Him verbally with ‘the sinner’s prayer’ and never move beyond the head knowledge to the heart to empowerment.  Sadly one can spend a lifetime following the Jesus they know about rather than the living Jesus Who wants to know them.

In What Atmosphere Do You Walk?

Advent is the perfect season to reevaluate your walk with the Lord.  Look
over your life with prayerful consideration.  Are there any areas you still hold onto that you have not surrendered to Him?  This is a time to be brutally honest with yourself.  Your very life depends on it.  Ask for His help to release your grip and let go.  He is faithful to walk you through every step.

Know that He is alive today and His desire is to share a close relationship with you.  If you will truly let Him in as Lord of your life He will take you far beyond what you could think or imagine!  He has a wonderful plan for your life in Him.  Open your heart fully.  When you are a sold out follower of Jesus Christ He permeates the atmosphere in your life wherever you walk.  You will walk in His power as He tells His followers, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.  (John 14:12).

Choose the Greater Works!

Are you living in the “greater works” or are you just living?  It has nothing
to do with your circumstances and everything to do with the state of your heart and the fullness of your relationship with Him.  Be a true follower of Jesus Christ not one in name only.  The choice is yours.  He awaits.  Choose to “God walk” the rest of your life!  Start today to bring His Kingdom to earth as it is in heaven.

‘Pray the States’

This year we in Esther’s Warriors Ministry started ‘praying the states’ toward the 2012 Presidential election.  We pray for each state in the order of admission to the Union and will continue.  Our Nation more than ever needs consistent, diligent prayer cover state by state.  This week please cover New Mexico admitted to the Union January 6, 1912, in prayer.  Pray for wisdom and discernment for the political leaders, pastors and church leaders, the people residing in New Mexico and for all in our Nation.  Each state is important in forming our United States of America.  We commit to pray for a different state each week so we not only provide prayer cover but also to make us aware that our country is bigger than the space we personally occupy in it. These are our United States.  Let us pray that we will arise united ‘for such a time as this!’

Please repost and share.

A Prayer Request and Personal Blessing

Thank you for your continued faithfulness to pray.  Please keep all who serve our country on foreign soil, our servicemen and women and their families in prayer for salvation and safety.  They are our frontline on the battlefield, let us be their frontline in the spirit.  Also, let us cover all who have come home wounded that they and their families will receive the kindness, help and support they need to go forward in their lives.  God bless all our diplomatic and military personnel and their families.   May God richly bless the United States of America and keep her safe.

May God richly bless you with a heart fully open to receiving Him.   Please pray for all in authority over us, for the full truth to come forth concerning Benghazi and for safety in Israel.  May we may arise united in this auspicious season in our country’s history.
