Every Day!

Tomorrow we celebrate Veteran’s Day in the United States of America.  This day is set aside to honor those who have served and continue to serve in our Armed Forces to keep us free.  The freedoms that we currently enjoy on a daily basis are ours because of their sacrifices.  Some have paid the ultimate sacrifice of their life, others have lost limbs and still others have scars not readily visible.

The war has not ended for countless men and women who have returned home with daily trials we cannot begin to imagine if we are not honored to know one of them personally.  Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) are two very real challenges facing our veterans today.  The suicide rate among returning veterans is heart wrenching.  As I have said before, when one serves our country their entire family serves.  When one serving is injured or killed the loss is felt by all of us.

Pray about what you can do to lighten the load for our veterans and their families.  Volunteer; support Wounded Warriors Project, the USO (United Services Organization) or the many other wonderful organizations who help our veterans and their families.

I remember as an Army dependent going to the USO with my mom to help serve men and women who were far from their families and far from home.  Especially during Christmas time I was profoundly affected at a young age by the sacrifice these people were making for our country.  They so appreciated all that we did to make their tour of duty a little lighter.

Thank any veterans you know for their service, thank their families and most important pray for each and every service man and woman for safety, salvation and restoration.  For us to forget them in their time of need when they risk their all for us would be unconscionable.

Are You On Active Duty or AWOL (Absent Without Leave)?

We know that freedom is not free in the natural.  Many sacrifices are made to ensure the continuance of our freedom.  From a spiritual perspective your freedom is not free either.  You can walk in the fullness of freedom because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.  He died on the cross so that you could be free.  His death opened the way for your salvation and the ability to be in the world but not of it. From this vantage point He can work through you to bring His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

If you are truly His follower you are here to be used to set others free in Him.  The Holy Spirit works through you to lead others to Christ and freedom.  Can you see the analogy for being soldiers in the Army of the Lord?  Your freedom enables you to go forward in the name of the Lord in prayer for others.  Your freedom enables you to stand on the frontlines in the spirit for others.  Your freedom came at a great price. To walk in the fullness of that freedom you must give your all.  Focus on material acquisition and the ways of the world become unimportant.  The commitment to follow Christ means you no longer live solely for yourself but for Him and the good of His Kingdom.

Now Is The Time To Stand!

We are in precarious times in our country, in the world and in the spirit.  Now truly is the time to put on the armor of God and stand for all that we hold dear in the name of freedom.  On this Veterans Day be thankful for all who have served, are serving and will serve to keep us free.  We are all in this together.  These brave men and women need our support and prayers.  Our country was founded on a firm belief in divine Providence and a unity of spirit for freedom.  Now is the time to ensure that our beliefs are upheld on battlefields near and far and that we all do our share to keep us free.

A Prayer Request

Thank you for your continued faithfulness to pray.  Please keep all who serve our country, our servicemen and women and their families in prayer for salvation and safety.  They are our front-line on the battlefield, let us be their front-line in the spirit.  Also, let us cover all who have come home wounded that they and their families will receive the kindness, help and support they need to go forward in their lives.

God bless all our diplomatic and military personnel and their families.  May the Lord keep them safe.  Pray for all throughout the world for hedges of protection against radical Muslim extremists and all forms of terrorism.   We have long prayed for spiritual victory over radical Islam in Esther’s Warriors Ministry. We now see the reality of this threat come to the forefront in this time in world history.

Please pray for all in authority over us, for the full truth to come forth concerning Benghazi and for safety in Israel.  May God richly bless the United States of America, bring to light every single crooked place and keep her safe.  May we may arise united once again as One Nation Under God in this auspicious season in our country’s history.

We continue to pray for truth to prevail as we saturate this country in prayer and stand for all that is right in America and for all of us who call ourselves American.  These are treacherous times and now more than ever we must maintain our walk.  Fail not in this hour.

Father we thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to set us free.  Grace us to walk in the fullness of that freedom to bring Your Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.  We come before You repentant and ask that You hear from heaven and heal our land.  Heal both the landscape of our Nation and the landscape of each and every one of our hearts.  We pray this in Jesus’ mighty name.  Amen and amen.
