Do You Trust or “Try?”

trust in Him

Is Your Life Filled With Effort

Or Do You Flow In His Will?

Blessings on this first week of summer!  Graduations, weddings and various festivities of the season herald many levels of new beginnings.  Open doors of opportunity and yet to be discovered blessings await at every turn.  “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”  (Jeremiah 29:11) Your future rests in Him and His divine plan for you.  His plan is for peace and hope for you.

Supernatural Trust

Are you currently in a place of confusion, doubt, hopelessness?  Does the future appear as if it will only bring more of the same in your life?  God continues to teach me about trusting Him implicitly.  Having a full on level of trust without doubt in any situation is only had through the Holy Spirit’s infusion of grace into your life.  It is a supernatural trust that you cannot have in the natural alone.  It is impossible to fully trust God in your own strength.  If you can get out of the way God will lead you in His divine direction for your life.

Stop “Trying”

I do not know about you but I diligently seek Him and His will.  At times, however, I find myself feeling anxious about a given situation.  It is then that I realize I am “trying” to go in the direction I think He is leading me.  At times, I realize that the noise of “trying” has drowned out His still small voice.  When I stop “trying” I once again have the peace of hearing and following Him.  He prevails in every circumstance if I choose to step aside and let Him lead me.

This week I propose that we eliminate the word and concept of “trying” from our life.  To “try” is to attempt something.  To “try” requires an exertion of effort in our own strength.  A “trying” situation denotes difficulty and unpleasantness.  It is upsetting or annoying.  You have the choice to speak life over your circumstances.

Instead of “trying” to have faith, “trying” to live without doubt, “trying” to trust God change your words to positive action words.  I have faith, I live without doubt, and I trust God.  Take a moment to reread the last two sentences slowly and experience the difference in how empowering the second sentence is without the word “trying.”  Jesus died to give us life and life more abundantly.  To walk in that abundance we are responsible for words we speak over our life and every situation.

I am “trying” (pun intended) to delete the word “trying” from my vocabulary.  Will you join me?  There is much ahead for each of us for hope and a future in Him.  We must hold fast to the confession of our faith and stand steadfast in this season.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”  Jesus, John 10:10

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”  Jesus, John 10:27

A Prayer Request

Thank you for your continued faithfulness to pray.  Please keep all who serve our country, our servicemen and women and their families in prayer for salvation and safety.  They are our front-line on the battlefield, let us be their front-line in the spirit.  Also, let us cover all who have come home wounded that they and their families will receive the kindness, help and support they need to go forward in their lives.  God bless all our diplomatic and military personnel and their families.

Please pray for all in authority over us, for the full truth to come forth concerning Benghazi and for safety in Israel.  Pray for those affected by severe weather outbreaks in our country this week.  Pray for all throughout the world for hedges of protection against radical Muslim extremists and all forms of terrorism.

May God richly bless the United States of America, bring to light every single crooked place and keep her safe.  May we may arise united in this auspicious season in our country’s history.
