Daily Inspiration-On Whose Understanding Do You Lean?

How often do you lean on your own understanding of a given situation in your life?  You think you see all the facts, all the players and ultimately the best solution.  We only see in part.   Actually, we see only a very, very small part.

If you truly follow Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life you will learn along the way that to wait for His direction is always the best course of action to take.  At times, that course of “action” means seemingly no “action.”

It can be very frustrating in the natural to wait as we live in such a microwave society.  Things happen in a nano-second.  Attention spans grow less and less due to the  widespread dependence on technology. The blue screens and non-stop life interruption of I Pads, cell phones, computers and TV’s literally affect the brain processing capabilities and level of human interaction skills.

With little wisdom or discernment, many run to and fro seeking the next life change.   Just as children can make rash decisions without direction, so self-directed adults seemingly go from one thing to another leaving broken fragments in their wake.

To live God-directed is a completely different story.  Many of us await a healing, a new job, a new relationship, restoration of family, etc.  Waiting for God to move can be challenging.  Moving without God can be catastrophic!

For it is written:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Proverbs 3:5-6

“…But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

Isaiah 40:31

“ For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.  But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.  When I was a child, I spoke as a child; I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.  For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”

  1 Corinthians 13:9-12
